GERMINATION POSSIBILITIES of Capparis spinosa L. of NATURALLY GROWING in TURKEY at in vitro and in vivo CONDITIONS

Viewed : 1568 - Downloaded : 742 Capparis spp. is the one of the important plants for Mediterranean countries because of its high tolerance to marginal environmental conditions as poor soil and high temperature. However, in the first year germination percentage is low due to seed coat dormancy. Effects of some pre-treatments (H2SO4 and GA3) on seed germination of Capparis spinosa L. were examined in this research. As a result of the research, 30 minutes H2SO4 + 600 ppm GA (%30.55) was found to be the best pre-treatment for in vivo conditions and 30 minutes H2SO4 + 200 ppm GA3 (%61.11) for in vitro conditions.
