Efforts are underway to bred new sweet corn hybrids. It is very important to determine promising inbreds which have good combining abilities in early generations in sweet corn breeding programs. In this study, 87 sweet corn inbreds which were developed in the sweet corn variety program were evaluated for their combining ability in terms of fresh ear yield by topcrossing method. One commercial single cross was used as a tester. The study was carried out in Antalya and Konya locations in 2009. 11, 30, 39, 50, 51, 85 and 87 numbered inbreds showed high combining ability based on fresh ear yield. Selected candidate inbreds will be tried in different cross combinations in the next season studies. Keywords : Sweet corn, Top cross, General combining ability, Fresh ear yield
