In this study, the effects of nitrogen fertilizers on some biological morphological properties of leafminers after application on their host plants were evaluated. Results showed that the nitrogen content has significant impact on the numbers of eggs deposited, the numbers of survived larvae as well as the size of pupae and density of adult population of leafminer species, i.e. the higher the nitrogen content, the higher the number of eggs and larvae as well as the size of pupae and adult population density. A significant link between the nitrogen content and the population density as well as the extent of damage caused by both species was observed. It should be noted that use of nitrogen in the recommended dozes within a balanced and economic production will also prevent unnecessary spending on pest control.
